Buy a new 5D Mark II - $2500 - + the $220 you've paid to Canon already. Replace the shutter - $640 - bring the camera to 'like new' condition Buy a used 5D on Ebay - $1000 - $1200 (plus the $220 you've paid to Canon) - and then wonder how the former owner really treated the camera
9. Pixel Timer Shutter Release TW283-N3. Even though you can control the Mark IV from your phone through Wi-Fi, a trusty remote shutter is still preferable in many situations. You could go for one that simply activates the shutter button, but investing in Pixelโs TW283N3 is a better idea.
I would like to know how much is the usual 5DSR shutter replacement cost/or the related components cost so that i can put aside the money in case for that day. Thanks in advance! My 5DII were running strong @ >350.000.
Work for a camera repair facility, and usually the cost to repair a shutter in 5D -style cameras runs between $250-300 parts and labor unless there are other issues to address. So $500 may be a fairer price if you're from a larger metro area, but it did seem a little steep but within the range of possibility.
In fact, I shot so much on it that I had to bring it in for a shutter replacement and a few other repairs already. Fortunately, the Canon 5D Mark IV is good at those as well: 24.8-bit color
This is a step by step tutorial on how to remove a defective Top cover Dial Assembly and install a new one in a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
